Event Management

Event and program planning & management

As the former Programs Manager of a large historic site and open-air museum, I have a dozen years of event planning and management experience. From registration and coordination to marketing, scheduling, and staffing, I handled everything related to the site's special events, historic reenactments, and educational programming.

Web Development

Self-taught Designer & Developer

Over a dozen years ago, I became the volunteer webmaster of a local non-profit organization. Since then, I have designed and developed a number of websites from the ground up. I like to code by hand and strive for a great UX. I have experience with HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP. I continually challenge myself to grow and improve my skills.

Social Media

& Email Marketing

In 2009, my work duties expanded to include management of the business' social media presence on Facebook and Twitter in addition to email marketing. Soon after, I started my own business venture which required quite a bit of social media savvy as well. With the addition of Instagram, Pinterest, and a YouTube channel, I gained a wide range of experience.

Historian

Trained and degreed

My formal training is in history. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toledo in 2002. With an emphasis in early American and military history, I spent the past twenty years in the museum field. My training and career experience includes critical thinking skills, research & writing, public speaking, and more.

Personal Interests

It's all about work-life balance

One cannot live life to the fullest without interests and passions outside work. Family, travel, and leisure activities help me relax and recharge.
