Personal Interests
For a work-life balance
Family
Family is the most important aspect of my life. I am newly married to my beautiful wife, Samantha. We recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary together. It was a beautiful fall ceremony at a gorgeous location in Northwest Ohio. Because our schedules are often quite different, we cherish the time we can spend with each other throughout the week. We enjoy small town life, dinner together, and family game nights, and hope to instill those same values in our future children.
Travel
From luxurious cruises to cross-country road trips, I love to travel. As a child, I was fortunate enough to take two-week driving vacations with my parents every summer. I discovered beautiful and fantastic sights and met many interesting people along the way. Those summer road trips instilled in me a great wanderlust that I continue to indulge whenever possible. I have traveled throughout the United States in addition to international destinations in Canada, Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. One of my "bucket list" items is to set foot in every state in the U.S. and I'm happy to say I'm very close to my goal with 42 states so far.
Hockey
Let's Go Walleye! Several years ago, my now wife and I went to a hockey game for date night and we were "hooked." We have been season ticket holders for our beloved Toledo Walleye for the past couple of years now. The cool air of the hockey arena, the bright lights reflecting off the ice, and the high decible noise of the cheering crowd and blasting music only amplify the excitement and fast pace that is a hockey game. The hits, the cheers, and the noise are an absolutely awesome way to let off some steam by screaming for our team. Watching the Fish slap the puck into the back of the net never gets old!
Sailing
I grew up on the water. I was in a sailboat with my parents since 3 months of age. I started skippering boats in kindergarten. My parents were members of a local boat club and I spent much of my childhood there. As a teenager, I raced Sunfish on the river each week against other members of the club. I even placed in a few regattas over the years. I have loved sailing my entire life. Unfortunately, after high school, life got busy and other interests kept me from spending very much time on the water, but it is something I look forward to getting back into soon.
